Multicultural therapy for creatives.
My therapeutic approaches are relational and trauma-focused, utilizing principles from attachment theory and depth psychology.
Sometimes, life can seem to get in the way.
In the context of routines, work, and responsibilities, life can feel contradictory to spontaneity. Maybe you’re changing as a person, but not sure how your artistry fits into your bigger picture, or like things aren’t clicking like they used to.
I specialize in working with concerns around relationships, depression, anxiety, cultural identity, life transitions, and PTSD. Having the platform to be authentic and discuss your issues with a nonjudgemental other can lead to the process of letting go, finding self-acceptance, and figuring out your next steps.
My approach is informed by my background as a musician in the entertainment industry. Healing leads to greater satisfaction with what you’re creating, and the map becomes clearer with having joy in what you do.
My name is Andy. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, AMFT #155068.
Supervised by Christy Merriner, M.A., LMFT #117143
I hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and worked extensively with adolescents and families through the Maple Counseling Center. My approach to therapy is deeply informed by my background as a violinist and recording artist here in Los Angeles, where I worked with labels, media, and artists to help them achieve their creative visions.
My multicultural approach is based in attachment theory and depth psychology, where we can discuss all aspects of your lived experience and how it affects your abilities to thrive, and how you are able to relate to self and others. Your healing leads to creative and spiritual growth, and the ability to create with energy and insight.
